System KAN‑therm ultraLINE offers the possibility of flexible configuration of the final technical solution by the system designer, contractor or investor, which is rare on the market.
The selection of the appropriate option may be dictated not only by the preferences of people participating in the investment process, but also by the specifics of the investment, e.g. the need for on-plaster mounting in religious or historic buildings, where pipes with AL layer design will have much better performance properties than pipes with EVOH layer.
Therefore, in the ulitraLINE offer, there are two different types of plastic pipes at the same time – joined by the same fitting and the same sliding sleeve:

In KAN‑therm ultraLINE, in the whole range of diameters from 14 to 32mm, uses pipes PERTAL² with an aluminium layer. Pipes work with the system KAN‑therm ultraLINE fittings made of PPSU plastic or brass and plastic sleeves.
Due to the limited thermal elongation of pipes with AL layer, the KAN‑therm ultraLINE version is perfect when it is necessary to make on-plaster installation.
System KAN‑therm ultraLINE- pipes with EVOH layer is an innovative approach to the design and construction of internal pipe systems. The combination of two different types of pipes, i.e. with EVOH and AL layer, combines all the most important advantages and features of these constructions in one system.
Pipes with EVOH layer available in the diameter range of 14-20mm, used mainly for housing distribution in sub-plaster installations (distribution in floor toppings or covered wall grooves), perfectly use the phenomenon of shape memory.
Pipes with AL layer included in the system in the diameter range of 25-32mm use their plastic properties perfectly. Pipes with such diameters are mainly used for the installation of main supply pipelines and possible risers.
Both pipe versions are connected with the same brass or PPSU fittings and the same sliding sleeves.
PEXC and PERT2 pipes in the KAN‑therm ultraLINE PE offer (14-20mm in diameter) are made in the latest 5L technology (five-layer).
The 5L five-layer construction guarantees the highest protection of the EVOH anti-diffusion coating, by placing it inside the pipe wall. Functioning and undamaged EVOH coating effectively protects the installation from oxygen ingress and corrosion.
The EVOH anti-diffusion coating (ethyl vinyl alcohol) meets the requirements of DIN 4726.
Pipes are also supplied with thermal insulation to avoid wasting valuable time on the construction site lagging the pipeline.
KAN‑therm ultraLINE pipes with AL layer, known also as composite pipes, make use of the plastic properties of the aluminium layer embedded in the pipe wall structure. It makes it possible to form and shape the pipes freely and makes laying pipelines easy and comfortable.
The specially selected aluminium alloy is characterised by high elasticity, which makes the ultraLINE pipes with AL layer unique and they can be expanded during the process of the connection assembly.
The aluminium layer is joined by laser butt-welding and reduces the phenomenon of oxygen ingress into the installation, acting as the EVOH anti-diffusion coating.
This part of the pipe construction is also responsible for limiting thermal expansion. This is why this type of pipes is ideal if the installation must made on plaster.
Multilayer pipes are also supplied with thermal insulation.
To ensure and maintain the top quality of the product, KAN-therm ultraLINE pipes should be transported, stored and used as defined in the guidelines specified in the KAN technical documentation.
